How to play piano

personally talking…

If you are more than age 30 which mean you are adults, it would be pretty hard to learn how to play piano. but it doesn’t mean hardly possible to do so. You can start now if you really wish to and I did it 3 years ago. Here are some of suggestions.

1) learn from contemporary christian church pianist, most of them are not from traditional piano learning but chord music, I believe this is one of easiest way to learn piano but of course you need to appreciate on what on religous teaching and the songs too….

2) learn from book and DVD. a few recommended people and I start with Jermaine Grigg, Play piano by ear. now they are doing promotion with 50% off. Check this out

3) learn from real piano teacher, again I would say you should get some one really patient with those adults like you. I have one from superart music dance center

Still cannot? then which mean either you are not talented or you are lazy to learn……:P

Sounds good Vm-I chord progression

I learned this from my guru, he taught me 2 weeks ago, this voicing would create some jazzy sound accidentally.

Lets take an example when you have chord progression of following
I-V/vii-vi-iii-IV

Do some spice up here
I-V/vii-vi-Vm/V-I-IV

Just to replace iii with Vm/V-I.

Notes: Vm is meant on 5th chord with minor.

Try this up.

I have gone through this DVD for 2 times and I start to practice those concepts and techniques being taught by Paul inside the DVD. I really being amazed by Paul teaching method. One of the most I like is open chord concept, it really gives a modern contemporary sounding from my guitar, it is really nice to play this guitar voicing for praise and worship.

The next I like most is right and left hand damping techniques. This DVD would provide you companion instructional workbook as well so that you won’t miss some of important point from this DVD teaching.

I really recommend this DVD instructional course for people who wish to improve their guitar skill in praise and worship
